Tusker talks to Johnny Miller, Head of Sales at Genesis

We are entering a new chapter when it comes to how we get from Point A to Point B. The transition from mainstream combustion to electric motoring after over a century is no small change or challenge, however, where these huge paradigm shifts emerge, there’s opportunities for new names to challenge the established leaders. Genesis are a new car manufacturer offering a range of cars to suit a range of budgets and lifestyles.

Genesis might have only launched in Europe just a couple of years ago, but it has rapidly expanded its model range to encompass everything from compact SUVs to larger luxury saloons. While initial models were offered with petrol or diesel engines, its emerging next phase will see the luxury marque quickly position itself as a key contender in the EV game.

The Genesis GV60 is the marque’s first all-electric car.

Its first all-electric car, the Genesis GV60, shares its underpinnings with highly-rated sister vehicles such as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 – one of the benefits of Genesis being part of the Hyundai Motor Company portfolio. This stylish electric SUV differentiates itself with plenty of onboard technology and a bespoke interior that is amongst the most lavish in its class.

Something else that’s the envy of many Genesis GV60 competitors is an ability to charge at ultra-fast speeds of up to 350kW, meaning a 10-80% charge in just 18 minutes. As an option, a Vehicle to Load (V2L) adaptor will allow you to plug in any three-pin plugged device and run it via the car – handy for a laptop or the ability to boil a kettle on a picnic. Dependent upon which model you choose, you can have sports car performance with 483bhp on tap, or an electric range of up to 321 miles.

Another key vehicle in the line-up is the Genesis Electrified G80. This luxury saloon retains all of the rich features found on the combustion model, but now runs on electricity. Drivers can take advantage of a huge 14.5-inch infotainment screen as standard. A 323-mile range, all-wheel drive and 365bhp makes it a highly competitive proposition.

Tusker continues to work with Genesis to ensure excellent supply of  Genesis models including the GV60, GV70 and Electrified G80 models for its customers that are looking to stand out from the crowd. Its salary sacrifice scheme is a great way to take advantage of driving a better and greener car with one simple monthly cost that covers everything from insurance to maintenance. In terms of being keen to enhance customer’s experiences of ownership, both Genesis and Tusker share many values.

Johnny Miller, Genesis Head of Sales.

Johnny Miller, Genesis Head of Sales said “We fully encourage Tusker customers to try one of our exciting new electric vehicles, but this is done with the ‘Genesis Difference’ which is our unique approach to customer service. We don’t have a traditional dealer network so you can call to organise a test drive, with a vehicle being delivered directly. We bring the test drive to you, along with an expert who can answer any of your questions.”

The Genesis GV60 and Electrified G80 are available on the Tusker Salary Sacrifice scheme now.
