Tusker Brings Salary Sacrifice EV Scheme to Formula E Employees

News Release

Tusker, the UK’s leading salary sacrifice car provider, announces its collaboration with Formula E, the world’s premier all-electric racing series. Tusker will offer Formula E’s 200+ eligible employees’ access to cost-effective and sustainable new and pre-loved electric vehicles (EVs) through its salary sacrifice scheme.

The introduction of the scheme aligns perfectly with Formula E’s world-leading commitment to sustainability. As a global leader in electric motorsport, Formula E has championed sustainable innovation since its inception. By collaborating with Tusker, the racing series ensures that its employees can also experience the benefits of EVs in their everyday lives, not just on the racetrack.

The move follows Liberty Global’s increased investment in Formula E, with it now owning 65% of the organisation. Liberty Global also offers an EV salary sacrifice scheme to its employees, and Formula E was keen to follow suit, not only to provide a valuable benefit for staff but also to reinforce its commitment to sustainability.

Introducing Tusker’s scheme is a logical step, ensuring that Formula E employees can access affordable, sustainable vehicles, in line with the organisation’s core values.

Alastair Crawford, Account Development Manager at Tusker, worked closely with Formula E’s management, including its Chief Financial Officer, to provide comprehensive guidance on the scheme’s benefits and implementation. He commented: “There is a growing trend for organisations to adopt this type of scheme to not only support their net-zero goals, but to support employees with their vehicle expenses. It’s been fantastic working with the team at Formula E. Given their sustainability goals and focus on electric innovation, our collaboration was a perfect fit. From the outset, we worked closely with their teams to address any concerns and ensure a smooth rollout”.

Kat L’Oste-Tomkins, People Director at Formula E, said: “Our salary sacrifice car scheme reinforces our leadership, brand reputation and credibility particularly when it comes to sustainability and EV adoption. While we work tirelessly with some of the most innovative automakers and race teams in the world to progress the development of EVs, we also wanted our workforce to benefit from that work too by being able to drive their cars as part of our company car provision.”

“So, supporting eligible employees to drive electric vehicles offers multiple wins. This new salary sacrifice EV car scheme not only supports our vital environmental efforts, it also provides employees with substantial savings on the cost of an electric car”

Tusker’s salary sacrifice scheme provides an all-inclusive, tax efficient package covering insurance, maintenance, breakdown assistance, and road tax, all for a fixed monthly amount. This approach allows employees to drive new or pre-loved, eco-friendly vehicles without the upfront costs typically associated with car ownership.
