More awards for Tusker’s Car Benefit Scheme

London Ambulance Service’s Car Benefit Scheme, provided by Tusker, has won Best Staff Travel Benefit at the annual Employee Benefits Awards. The prestigious Awards saw a host of companies from across the public and private sectors, eagerly awaiting the announcement of whether or not their benefits had been given this highly prized recognition.

Tusker, the Car Benefit People, entered the awards in conjunction with the London Ambulance Service, which had implemented its scheme in 2015. London Ambulance had seen dramatic results following the scheme’s introduction, with a reduction in employee turnover of 45%, something which it felt deserved to be noted.

Tusker’s Car Benefit Scheme enables almost all employees at London Ambulance Service to drive a brand new car for a fixed monthly amount. Free to implement and run, the scheme has attracted over 150 drivers so far and has been particularly successful for its large proportion of international employees and those on fixed-term contracts.

It was this reduction in employee turnover, together with the inclusive nature of the benefit which won the Best Staff Travel Benefit Award for Tusker and the London Ambulance Service.

Commenting on the success of the Tusker Car Benefit Scheme, the judges recognised the substantial contribution the scheme had made to the organisation, “The car scheme was introduced to support London Ambulance Service NHS Trust’s retention and attraction strategy, including reducing turnover among paramedic staff. It is an innovative approach to a specific problem.”

Earlier in the month, Tusker also received the Best Car Benefit Firm 2017 at the Business Growth Awards in recognition of its 87% company growth over the past 3 years and the continued development of its salary sacrifice scheme.

The team is eagerly awaiting the results of two more awards due to be announced this summer as Tusker has made the shortlist for the Workplace Savings and Benefits Awards which are held in September, and the SME Hertfordshire Awards which are at the end of July. In both cases, Tusker has been recognised for the scheme’s contribution to employee happiness and engagement.
