Ford is one of the best-known car brands in the world, with a rich heritage of building fantastic family cars for over 100 years. The brand has also made a serious impact in the electric vehicle (EV) market, with models that are every bit as impressive as their petrol and diesel variants.
Let’s have a look at the Ford EV range:
The Ford Puma was the UK’s best-selling car in 2023 and 2024, and for good reason. It’s small and agile enough for everyday life, spacious enough inside for it to be a good family car. Up until now, the mild-hybrid engine has been extremely popular returning fantastic fuel economy in a stylish body, and is a joy to drive.
Building on the framework set over the past few years, the new all-electric Puma Gen-E delivers everything its petrol predecessor offered, but with all the benefits of an EV. It holds a 43kWh battery that provides 233 miles of range on a full charge, and a fast charger can take it from 10% to 80% charge in just 24 minutes.

Although it was a more popular brand in America than in the UK, the Ford Explorer is the next car in the Ford EV lineup. It’s a mid-sized SUV that’s jam-packed with tech and storage solutions, making it a perfect car for growing families or those who need a bit more cabin space.
It comes with a standard battery of 52kWh, or an extended range of 79kWh – and even comes in an all-wheel-drive option too – with a maximum range of 354 miles, and fast charging capabilities of 24 minutes for a 10-80% charge.
The new all-electric Ford Capri caused a stir when it was announced. Reviving the iconic name from the 1970s, it sparked debate among car enthusiasts and some questioned whether a modern EV could live up to the legend. But first impressions were quickly won over by the Capri’s impressive tech and driver comforts, while the exterior still holds an element of the mean angular styling that made the Capri popular half a century ago.
The standard battery is 52kWh, increasing to up to 79kWh in the extended range variant – offering up to 389 miles of range. Fast charging from 10-80% is as little as 25 minutes.
The Mustang Mach-E is named after the classic introduced in the 1960s, and just like the Capri, the Mustang Mach-E lives up to its namesake, with the top-of-the-range model delivering 487 horsepower and being an exciting car to drive.
Standard models hold a 72kWh battery, or a 91kWh extended range battery – resulting in an impressive 372-mile range, and a rapid charge will get you from 10-80% charge in under 36 minutes.
