The Jeep brand is known for its long history, rugged capabilities, and distinctive styling. While the big Wrangler satisfies the needs for those looking to climb mountains, Jeep’s hugely popular compact models have proven popular with those exploring the urban jungle. The new Jeep Avenger is the latest addition to the range and is available as a pure electric vehicle.
If you’re looking for a car with a big personality but a smaller footprint than your typical Jeep, this compact SUV might be for you. This new member of the Jeep family sports the iconic Jeep grille and strong stance that makes it instantly recognisable.
The Avenger model is offered as a zero-emissions vehicle, meaning those behind the wheel can reap all the benefits of an EV while retaining the hardy capabilities Jeep is famed for.
While the Jeep Avenger is the marque’s first electric car, and so its EV underpinnings have been designed to impress, the heritage of the Stellantis group means it has a wealth of expertise behind it. A 54kWh battery grants a range of up to 248 miles while 100kW rapid charging capabilities means a 10-80% charge is possible in just 26 minutes. A charge from a 7kW home wallbox – taking advantage of cheaper electricity rates overnight – takes around eight hours from empty to full.
This Jeep is powered by a 156bhp electric motor with a strong 260Nm of torque at its disposal, the latter particularly good if you venture from the beaten path. Power is sent to the front wheels, however, an all-wheel drive variant of the Avenger will arrive in 2024 for added off-road prowess.
A Jeep Avenger is around the size of a Peugeot e2008, making it perfect for doing battle in busy urban spaces. Thanks to its naturally boxy shape, interior space is good with plenty of room for adults and growing children. Its boot deserves particular praise at 380 litres, being larger than that of a Vauxhall Mokka or Mercedes-Benz EQA.
Getting a brand-new electric car is more attainable than ever thanks to Tusker’s salary sacrifice scheme. One convenient monthly payment covers everything from the car to its maintenance, login or find out more about going electric.
