Dacia Spring: Could this affordable new car be your next salary sacrifice car?

Electric vehicles (EV) are a great way to bring your running costs down on your car, and if you’re able to charge at home or at work, the savings will pile up. And with the launch of lots of new cars on the market, there’s even more affordable models to choose from.

Dacia (part of the Renault group of companies) has already made a name for itself for producing great entry level cars, and its new Spring is no exception to this. In fact, it’s one of the most affordable five-door EVs in the UK. So, could this car be the one to make you switch to driving an EV?

City-drivers, the Spring is calling your name!

Designed with city driving in mind, the Spring has excellent handling and more than enough battery to handle daily use, without going overboard. As standard it has a 44hp motor but also comes in a punchier 64hp variant if you regularly venture onto the motorways and want a bit more power.

Big battery for a small EV

The 26kWh battery may seem small in comparison to other EVs on the market, but it promises 140+ miles of range – which makes sense, when Dacia says most drivers average only 23 miles at an average of 23mph. In those circumstances, Dacia claims drivers can achieve up to 180 miles per charge.

Spacious, with a Spring in it’s step

Cities are cramped and crowded, so this car comes in a small but perfectly formed package. It’s only 3.7m long and 1.58m wide – but that doesn’t mean you can expect a cramped driving experience. The boot is a little over 300L, and Dacia has opted to remove the middle seat in the back to free up more space for rear seat passengers. In the drivers’ seat, you’ll find a 7-inch fully-customisable display cluster – a 10-inch infotainment system in the Extreme model that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

With salary sacrifice, you could be driving a Dacia Spring with insurance and all maintenance included for less than you might think! If this puts a Spring in your step, get in touch to find out more!
