Coming Soon and Stock Car FAQs

At Tusker, you can drive your smile even faster with our new cars in stock. Whether you’re needing a new car urgently or you’d just prefer a quicker delivery, we have a wide range of stock and coming soon cars for you to choose from! But, what are the differences between building your own or choosing a stock/coming soon car?

We’ve answered a few of the frequent questions we’re often asked about the ‘new cars in stock’ page:

What does in stock and coming soon mean?

The main difference with these cars is that the car has already been pre-ordered and isn’t made to your bespoke specifications, which a new factory order will be. The cars are often in the UK ready for delivery (those we refer to as in stock) but could also be in production at the factory or en-route to the UK from the manufacturer – which is why some will have delivery dates a little further in advance on our website. They’re available much quicker than waiting for a factory build slot though, which is why we refer to them as “coming soon”.

What are the advantages of a car that’s in stock or coming soon?

Mainly, time or a manufacturer special offer. As these cars have already been pre-ordered and often built, they can be supplied more quickly. If it isn’t already in the UK, it’s likely to be on its way. Some manufacturers are still experiencing production delays and so lead-times for bespoke orders can be around 6-9 months, so if you need a car quickly, this is a good option for you.

New cars are added to our site every few days, so it’s worth keeping an eye out and checking the driver portal regularly to see if there’s something which meets your needs.

Are there any disadvantages?

The main disadvantage is that it’s not a bespoke vehicle. It’s been ordered with a popular specification, so even though you won’t be able to make changes to the spec, we still have the top picks of colours and interiors for you to choose from.

Something to note if you’re looking to order a stock car – we hold a limited number of these cars on our site, once they’re gone, they’re gone. You’ll need to be fast and snap up your car choice by completing the documentation quickly.

Quick tip: we’ve got a questionnaire over on the EV hub where you can fill in your lifestyle and requirements and it’ll share with you the EV that matches you best. Take this before you go on the stock page and this will help with your car choice (and getting it before someone else does!)

Fill in the questionnaire, here.

What is the average delivery time for the cars featured on the coming soon page?

If we have a stock car in the UK, we can often deliver within as little as 6 weeks, as long as we have the necessary approvals from your employer, and that the admin has been completed. Other vehicles will state their anticipated delivery date, which is the information the manufacturer has supplied to us. If we’re advised of any changes to this, we’ll update you straight away.

How do I order a coming soon / stock car?

Once you have logged into the website, go to the new cars in stock page on the website and click ‘get a quote’ on the vehicle you’d like to choose. You’ll then see what the associated costs are per month and order through the website. You can then sign your paperwork and your employer will then approve this for you. Once we have all those details, a delivery date will be given to you.
