The evolution of modern cars, particularly Electric Vehicles, has come on leaps and bounds in the past few years and 2025 is shaping up to be no different. Exciting launches are planned for the likes of Kia and Volkswagen, while a few classic names you’ve probably heard of before are being revived by Ford and Renault while a new name on the block from China looks set to make an in impact in 2025. With that in mind we have brought some of those exciting new models together to help you decide which new or replacement salary sacrifice car you would like to get behind the wheel of, during 2025.
Kia has spent years cementing itself as a comfortable and reliable car brand that makes dynamic technology-rich cars with a sensible price tag. The new EV3 is already recognised as one of the best small eSUV options out there. It features Kia’s latest battery technology, and its “Long Range” model can travel 375 miles between charges.

Any list of cars to keep an eye on in 2025 would not be complete without Dacia making an appearance, as it continues to bring affordable options to the world of EVs. Its new Spring has been launched with a price tag under £15,000, making it the cheapest new five-door EV on the market. It isn’t the highest performing EV, with the base option producing a sensible 45bhp, but it provides a 140-mile range which makes it a car particularly suitable for town or city driving.

Omoda isn’t a brand you may necessarily have heard of yet, but it is tipped by many to become a household name within the next few years. One of the Chinese manufacturer’s first car on UK roads is the Omoda E5, an electric SUV that is packed full of driver comforts. The impressive 61kWh battery model provides an all-electric range of over 250 miles, and it’s set to rival the likes of Kia’s EV3 and the Hyundai Kona Electric.

Vauxhall has rejuvenated this classic car name from the early 90s in the shape of the all-new Frontera. It’s a practical electric five-door SUV with a massive interior and a comfortable ride. The 44kWh base model, which is available now, boasts a range of around 186 miles, while a 54kWh option is expected to land in the summer with a 246-mile range.

The Hyundai Inster is a city EV with lots of charm and charisma. Despite being the smallest car in Hyundai’s range – even smaller than the popular i10 model – its stylish exterior hides a surprisingly roomy and comfortable interior, which can accommodate four people. It comes with two battery options that can produce up to 220 miles of range and provides drivers with an affordable and easy to park EV for all the family.

Renault has launched its new 5 fully electric hatchback model, the first car bearing the name since the original model finished production in the early 80s. This full electric hot hatch merges the angular lines of the original R5 and boasts a high-tech and stylish interior and some funky colours. Its lightweight and compact build pays dividends when it comes to range, with the 40kWh battery offering up to 248 miles between charges. Cars should be available to test drive in the spring.

This modern EV revives a classic name from Ford but looks nothing like its 1980s predecessor. The Capri SUV is already causing a stir with its various configurations, including 52 kWh and 77 kWh rear-wheel drive options and a 79 kWh all-wheel drive model which boasts a range of up to 390 miles. Watch out for its bright yellow launch colour.
Meanwhile, fans of the UK’s best-selling car, the Ford Puma, can look forward to the new all electric Gen-E model being launched this spring. It is set to come with all the features drivers know and love from the current Puma model, except it will house a 43kWh battery capable of covering 230 miles between charges.

The Skoda Enyaq was one of Tusker’s most popular Electric SUVs in 2024 and in 2025 it has received a facelift which includes a new look, new power and a re-configured range. There are three more powerful battery options with both rear wheel and all-wheel drive which provide up to 359 miles of driving. A new front-end design provides better aerodynamics which includes numerous LED lights and its available to order from today.
And if the Enyaq is a little too big for your needs the smaller Skoda Elroq all-electric family SUV has received some updates for 2025 too. Three battery rear wheel drive options are now available with four different trim levels. It aims to compete with the new Kia EV3, Tesla Model Y and Volvo EX30 and with a spacious interior and boot it is an appealing all-round family EV.
