The Tusker 2025 EV driver survey shows a positive shift in how employees are feeling about electric cars.
We spoke to three groups of people: drivers already enjoying an electric vehicle through Tusker’s salary sacrifice scheme, drivers using a petrol or diesel car through the scheme, and employees who are eligible but not yet driving with Tusker.
Encouragingly, almost three quarters (74%) of those not currently in a scheme and not driving an EV expect to be behind the wheel of one within the next four years – up from 69% last year. Even more telling, 35% say they would choose an EV if they were changing their car tomorrow.
The findings also highlight an important change in mindset. Salary sacrifice is no longer seen solely as an environmental choice, but increasingly as a meaningful financial wellbeing benefit, with 38% of drivers saying the financial savings are the main reason they would choose an EV through salary sacrifice.
